-22.7°C
In 2017, Molécule spent five weeks in Greenland to create –22.7°C, in the heart of the Arctic winter. He expected to find silence there, but instead discovered a multitude of cracks, breaths and vibrations, which he recorded and transformed into music. From this experience came an album, a film, a book, and a virtual reality and dome experience.

Molécule ventured to the Far North for a new sonic experience. From this journey to Greenland, the free spirit returned with the concept album -22.7°C, the lowest temperature recorded during this voyage to the edges of the Arctic Circle.
In direct continuity with his pioneering project 60°43' North, a five-week odyssey aboard a trawler in the heart of the North Atlantic Ocean, -22.7°C follows the same creative dogma: stepping out of his comfort zone, confronting an extra-ordinary environment, and capturing sounds to compose an album in situ, without a single note added once the expedition was over.
It took Romain De La Haye-Serafini three days to reach Tiniteqilaaq, a small, isolated Inuit village on the east coast of Greenland. In his luggage was his survival electro-kit, a home studio made up of keyboards, synthesizers, drum machines and, above all, state-of-the-art microphones to capture the atmosphere of his new ecosystem. For 36 days, Molécule explored the sea ice and its fjords in search of sounds. But also, and above all, he went in search of sensations, for a radical human and personal adventure.
A land of contrasts, the Arctic dazzles with its blinding whiteness, its abyssal silence and the immaculate spectacle of its northern lights. Yet, however pure and innocent this setting may seem, it is above all a deeply hostile territory, where survival conditions are grueling.
From this voluntary exile comes an album poised between tension and contemplation. Both concrete and luminous, Molécule’s techno is transcended by a journey to the ends of the earth, like a mise en abyme of the quest for self. With -22.7°C, Molécule sketches out an adventurous, immersive soundtrack that resonates as a true reconnection with Nature.
-22.7°C is a transmedia project spanning an audio album, a photographic and epistolary book, a documentary film and a virtual reality experience.
